Our Story

Anna-Maria and Christian started their Ristorante for the love they both have for exquisite fine dining, their passion for cooking, and the fun of entertaining.

It all started by inviting some of Chris’ guests over for dinner after long hours at work in the sales force at a well known Brand resort on the island.  After dining, these guests would encourage Anna-Maria and Chris to open their doors to the public, giving everyone the opportunity to taste their delicious recipes.

“Anna-Maria’s Autentico Ristorante Italiano” opened its doors in October of 2009.

Anna-Maria Grassia Libertella was born in Cattolica Eraclea, province of Agrigento, Sicilia, married to Christian Joseph Saponara born in Aruba, the third son of a Peruvian mother with strong roots going back to Messina and Napoli.

As a complementary couple, Chris and Anna-Maria are culinary creators, innovators, and architects, whose hearts belong to their very own Ristorante, where they are truly culinary magicians.

Their cuisine is Southern Italian, with a distinctive menu of known recipes, in addition to many of their own creations not found anywhere else; these have become well liked by all of their guests.

 

 

At Anna-Maria’s, all the meals are prepared fresh to order, with only fresh ingredients imported from various parts of the world, and also utilizing some locally grown produce. Every component of every recipe is hand-chosen by Chris & Anna-Maria, indeed making their offerings particularly unique among today’s eateries. They have set a standard that few restaurants anywhere in the world can match.

Chris and Anna-Maria, together with their staff members, welcome you and will make you and your loved ones feel like you are visiting a friend for dinner in their home. They will offer you a relaxed, no-rush ambiance, with the very best cuisine that will make you think you were dining in Southern Italy.
